CAR RENTAL IN ZANTE, GREECE

With a peak temperature of around 31 degrees Celsius, you’ll love the gorgeous heat in Zante at the height of summer. Known to the locals as Zakynthos, this island one of the most popular Greek travel destinations. Combining the hustle and bustle of bars and clubs with quiet and stunningly breath-taking natural wonders, Zante offers something for everyone. Unfortunately, it can be hard to see some of the more unusual aspects of this island by tourist transportation. Fortunately, CarGreece.gr is here to help.

Car rental from CarGreece.gr is the ideal way to get around Zante at any time of year. Instead of being limited to resorts and hotel grounds, choose from one of our many vehicles at multiple pick-up locations across the island and zoom off into the sunset. Thanks to our best price guarantee, you’ll have more money in your pocket for cocktails, and our simple booking system will make organising transport easier than you could ever expect.

ENJOY FUN IN THE SUN

No matter what resort you’re staying in, Zakynthos Town is a great, central location to get started at. There are plenty of places to shop, where you can find everything from department store essentials to unique Zante trinkets. If you prefer a less lively atmosphere, the town is quieter but just as great at night. At any time of day, don’t forget to stop at the docks – the view of gorgeous boats over the marina is always a sight for sore eyes. A short drive away you’ll find a gorgeous boutique winery in Machairado where you can taste delicious local wines. Don’t let yourself get tipsy, though, because you can’t miss a trip to the pottery workshop nearby.

There’s more of the local sights to be seen towards the north of the island. In amongst roads lined with trees and wild plants, you’ll find yourself in Volimes – home to the St Denis monastery. Take a trip around the courtyard to see the remains of this wonderful structure. There are even more ruins further on at Navagio, where you’ll see a fascinating shipwreck.

If you’re in Zante for a swim, there are plenty of options. Nature-lovers can bask in the glory of Porto Limnionas, a rocky cove with gorgeous blue water. There’s even an opportunity for snorkelling here. If you have kids, the water may be a little too deep, but the whole family will have a great time at Zante Water Village. Park up and take a trip down one of the many water slides for an adrenaline-filled day out. Naturally, Zante would be nothing without its beaches, most of which have plenty of parking space. Get a peek at the nests of the island’s famed and rare turtles on Gerakas beach, or visit Vassilikos beach for watersports and youthful bars.

And, of course, if there’s anything this island is known for, it’s the nightlife. If you’re aged between 18 and 30, be sure to visit Laganas. You’ll be driving alongside quad bikes and mopeds, and surrounded by people having a great time. The clubs are lively at the height of the season, and enjoyably quiet in the spring and autumn.

All in all, Zante presents some great driving opportunities, and car rental is the best way to enjoy yourself while you’re there. Just arm yourself with a map, and the world will be your oyster.
